Danson, Peter, of Mockerkin in Loweswater (died 1614)

Danson, Peter, of Mockerkin in Loweswater (died 1614)

Fairly prosperous farmer in Mockerkin. Mainly sheep.

He had a fling with Catherine Pearson in 1594 that resulted in a son, John Danson als Pearson.

He had three legitimate children that were listed in a bond at his death because they were minors. These were: John [John Danson of Mockerkin], William [William Danson of Mockerkin] and Thomas [Thomas Danson of Little Clifton]. It does look as though they were listed in order of seniority.

He may also have had older legitimate daughters. John's will in 1634 mentions a sister.

The two people appointed to administer his estate were John Fearon of Deanscales and Henry Wood of Woodside.  It is likely that at least one of these was related to his wife. or married to his daughter
