Born Isabel Mirehouse. She was probably the widow of Thomas Pearson of Mockerkin.

A widow of some considerable local wealth and importance, to judge from her will - goddaughters named after her, huge number of bequests.

In the name of god 15th May in Anno Dom 1645: I Isabell Pearson of Mockerkin in the County of Cumberland, widdow, sicke in bodie yet in good and pfect memory praised be god do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following first and most principallie I give and bequeath my soule into the mercifull hands of almighty god my maker trusting and steadfastlie beleeving in and through the meritts death and passion of my Redeemer and Saviour Jesus Christ to have free remission & full forgiveness of all my sinnes & my bodie to be buried in my pish churchyard of Lowswater & for my worldlie goodes be dispose of them as followeth;
Inprimis I give & bequeath unto the poore of Lowswater pish 6s 8d
It. I give unto Allan Wilson & John Boranskell sonnes of John Boranskell curate at Lowswater to either three shillings four pence
It. I give unto John Dickinson George David Thomas and Janet Dickinson children of John Dickinson my brother in law of streetgate evrie one of them 4s
It. I give unto Isabell Dickinson the daughter of Willm of streetgate being my goddaughter 5s
It. I give unto Daniell Elsabeth & Margrat Dickinson children of the said Willm to evrie one of them 2s
It. I give unto Willm Dickinson his two servants to either of them 6d
It. I give unto Thomas Fearon wife of Smaithwaite and Isabell her daughter they both being my goddaughters to either of them 10s
It. I give unto the rest of the said Thomas Fearon children to evrie one of them 1s
It. I give unto Catherin Dikes: 2s 4d
It. I give unto John Jackson of Hogyat his fower children to evrie one of them 1s conditionalie that is their father pay unto my Executor the summe of Fortie shillings that he indebted unto me on demand then the said children is to share 4s out of the sume of fortie shillings aforesaid but if he deme [looks like 'deme' but would make more sense as 'deny'] the payment of the abovesaid then his children is to have noe benefitt by my Will

It. I give unto Daniell Dickinson of Streetegate the frame standing in the said house And I desire Margratt Wilson the wife of John Wilson of Mockerkin whom I apointe to deliver all my cloathes wish is shapen to my backe Unto such persons as I have nominated unto her

I give and bequeath unto Nicholas Mirehouse [Jur] of Soskells and William Dickinson [Jur] of Streetgate & whome I make whole & sole Executor of all the rest of my goods not legat moveable and Nonmoveable my Legacies and funerall expenses to be discharged and payed by my Executor In Witnesse whereof to this my Last will and testament I putt my mke and Seale the day and yeare above written Witnesses hereof John Tiffing John Fearon Cuthbert Fearon [J] John Mirehouse [Jur].
Memorand the 28th day of Januarie in Anno Dom 1645 I Isabell Pearson of Mockerkin widdow for the naturall love and affection that I beare towards Nicholas Mirehouse of Soskells and I give and deliver unto the said Nicholas Mirehouse one bill of twelve pounds eighteen shillings made betweene Gilbert Mirehouse of Hobbecke in the said Countie yeoman and Isabell Pearson aforesaid dated the 20th day of June in anno Dm 1642 this bill given and delivered unto the said Nicholas Mirehouse the day and yeare above written before theis witnesses Thomas Iredell [J] Jenet Mirehouse [J] with others
