William was the eldest son and heir of John Dickinson of Streetgate (died 1644?).

In ye name of God Amen. |
I William Dickenson of streetgate in ye parish of Lamplugh being sick in body but in good and perfect remembrance praised be God for it doe make and constitute this my last will & testament in manner and forme following. |

I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God my maker hoping to be [inserted word above unreadable] saved by ye mercies of Jesus my saviour and redeemer, and my body to be buried in ye parish Church yard of Lamplugh aforesaid. And as for my worldly goods that God hath blessed me with I do dispose of them in manner following. |

it is my minde that my wife shall enjoy ye one half of my tenement at Streetgate during her naturall life, |
and that |
my son Daniel shall have and enjoy forever my whole tenement situate lying and being at Havercroft after ye death of ye old widdow there. |

I give to my son Daniel half of all my husbandry gear as in my natural life. |

I give unto my said son Daniel five outere bounds, three of them at Whillymoore and two at home and also one bedstead and a frame, one Ladder & all that belongs to me at Whillymoore aforesaid. |

I give unto him all ye moneys, wherever […] both Streetgate & Havercroft. |

I give unto my son Nathaniell all my lands at Mockerkin in ye parish of Loweswater after ye expiration of ten years, my wife & other children enjoy all ye said lands till then, and afterwards my wife only to have one half there during her natural life and all that with the consent of my son Daniel |

on summons be made by Mr John Gee steward to ye Countesse of Northumberland , that John Lamplugh of Lamplugh Esq, Geo: Lamplugh Rector of Lamplugh and William Fletcher of Mockerkin aforesaid yeoman at the next audit to be held at Cockermouth, whom I do impower to do ye sume [a phrase crossed out] provided nevertheless that if my son Nathaniell [words crossed out] Dickinson dye without issue male then it is my will and minde that on surrender of ye said land they make […….?] to my son Daniel. |

I give my lands at Stubscales to my wife during ye term also of her natural life, and [words crossed out] afterwards ye said lands I give to my son George forever provided that he pay twenty pounde due and some land to my daughter Rebecca. |

I give unto my son Daniel ten shillings and to his wife Ellen ten shillings, and to each of their children halfe a crowne, and also to every grandchild I have halfe a crowne. |

I give unto Richard Tubman my son in law ten shillings and to his wife ten shillings and to each of their children halfe a crowne. |
