John Dickinson (1620-1666)

John Dickinson (1620-1666) of Woodend

John doesn't get much mention in the records - his baptism, the baptism of two of his children, and his probate only. He died when the Lamplugh register was not being kept.

His widow was Margaret, likely to be the mother of his children. They were: Thomas (baptised 24-06-1653), Isaac (baptised 28-10-1655), Anne and Margaret. The latter two would have been born either during the 'Commonwealth Gap' in the late 1650s, when the register (though kept) may be incomplete, or in the 1660s when the register is non-existent.

His inventory was prized 13-03-1665/6. The prizers were: William Dickinson, Henry Wood, John Wallace and Thomas Wood - the same prizers as for his father in the previous year.

His widow Margaret was appointed administrator 21-05-1666, and the only supporting bondsman was his brother Lancelot. The penalty was set at only £100, again surprising for a farm this size, unless it had been subdivided.

Thomas Dickinson (1653-1699)

Thomas inherited Woodend. He married Mary, possibly daughter of Thomas Jackson of Howgate (though I'm increasingly doubting that inference).

Isaac Dickinson (1655-)

He had an illegitimate daughter, Margaret, baptised 18-04-1686 in Lamplugh.

Anne Rumblay

Anne married Francis Rumblay. Lancelot mentions her in his 1703 will as sister of Thomas Dickinson of Woodend. Thomas' wife Mary, in her 1712 will, calls her 'my sister-in-law Ann the wife [of - sic] Francis Rumblay'.

Margaret Collinson

Margaret married James Collinson. Lancelot mentions her in his 1703 as 'my Cousan [sic] Mary Colinson'. Mary Dickinson, in her 1712 will, calls her 'my sister-in-law Margaret the wife of James Collinson'.
