Daniel Dickinson (1702-1742)

Daniel Dickinson (1702-1742)

Daniel dies at a fairly young age, before he had inherited from his father, so there isn't much to write about him.

He married Abigail Wood of Woodend, and they had three children: John (who inherited Streetgate), Richard and Jane.

Daniel was buried two and one half yards NW of the choir door in St Michael's. His wife, who had died the preceding year, had been buried three yards NW of the choir door.

John Dickinson (1733-1802)

John married Frances, elder daughter of William Fryear. She brought Salter Hall as a dowry (a property that her father had purchased). This was an important acquisition, giving the Dickinsons a handsome and ancient home - as well as making them the largest landowners in the extra parochial of Salter and Eskett. Salter Hall had been built by Thomas Salkeld in 1583.

This marriage is commemorated within the family by the frequent use of 'Fryer' as a first or middle name.

Richard Dickinson (1735-)

Richard married Mary Williamson of Dublin.

Jane McDermot of Dublin (1739-1766?)

Jane married John McDermot of Dublin, wine merchant.
